Happy Sunday everybody and I hope you are enjoying the weekend. It’s been super cool here and yes, we finally got some decent rain this week. I can’t tell you how pleased I am about that. It’s true comfort food season even in Los Angeles, as we head towards Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of those holidays where it’s mostly about the food and the people we’re with and that excites me tremendously. I like to think about the things I’m thankful for as I cook, and speaking of cooking — I have several amazing Thanksgiving recipes here on my blog. I hope that you will give them a looksee to see if any of them tickle your fancy before you prepare your holiday meal.
This week will continue on with the fall theme with some added fun – recipes you’ve might of missed the first time around. On Monday it’s potato night with my Roasted New Potato Wedges with Smoky Aioli. You can pair them up with any roast chicken, fish or beef and have a splendid meal. Tuesday is taco night and these Turkey Tacos Dorados are not only easy to put together, but if you’re looking for something different for a Friendsgiving, these might just hit the spot. On Hump Day, we’re having Brunswick Stew which is a southern favorite, made up of fresh or frozen vegetables, and any type of leftover shredded or diced meat, or rotisserie chicken. It’s simple food loaded with tremendous flavor. Thursday night is a great time to pull out the Instant Pot for Pasta alla Norma. It’s vegetarian and made with eggplant and canned tomatoes and dotted with ricotta after cooking. A super quick and delightful dinner for the whole family. TGIF and it’s cocktail time with my Fall-tini. Nothing says, “Friday” like this drink and if you’re looking for cocktail ideas for Thanksgiving, you can make a pitcher of these and pour them in chilled glasses for guests when they arrive – super easy. Saturday’s are for baking and it’s pie season. Pecan Pie Bars with Graham Cracker Crust are almost like pie, but might even be better. Have a tasty week and get in the kitchen, it’s time.
