A Week At A Time – Meal Ideas!

Who’s ready for Christmas?!  Well, if you’re like me, I haven’t quite got my act together on the shopping yet.  Yes, I’ve bought a few things for my granddaughter, but my secret Santa gift has yet to be purchased, or any other trinkets for stockings and any other family members.  However there are some things I have my eye on, so before we talk food, let’s talk holiday gifts.

For the teetotalers of the family, an electric kettle is a great gift.  Williams Sonoma has so many to choose from depending upon style and budget – I suggest you check them out.  I live on sparkling water and these gizmos have come along way since the beginning.  Arke Carbonator III is a model I already own, and it’s certainly chic and does the job.  So, enough about water and let’s talk cooking – how about a Made-In steel wok for the chef in the family.  I happen to have this gadget too, and it stir-fry’s like magic.  You do need to season it after receiving it, but that’s a simple process of rubbing it with oil and putting it in the oven.  Any home cook would treasure this piece of equipment.  Have you heard of the Always Pan?  Well, I don’t own one yet, but I’m sure tempted.  It’s eight pieces of equipment in one.  I think it would make a great gift for a younger cook, or perhaps someone who doesn’t have much space in the kitchen.  For the precision bakers of the family, a Fradel Digital Scale with Bowl looks like a great item.  I have multiple scales in my kitchen to weigh out flour during baking and this one — you don’t have to zero out the weight of the bowl….nice.  For the mixologist in the family, a Breville Smoking Gun is a fabulous gift to add a touch of smoke to their favorite cocktails.  If you’re looking for cooking tools and utensils – this website has a list of some of the best items for the kitchen – I have several on the list that I can recommend firsthand, and many of them would make great stocking stuffers.

As for meals this week – let’s go comfort food all the way.  Stay warm, eat fabulous and Enjoy!
