Happy Sunday and it’s the last one before it’s officially Christmas. If you haven’t done your shopping, you probably should get to it and here are a few things that I think are super special this year. For cooking, All Clad is my favorite pots and pans, and there is an All Clad Outlet online that sells them for less because they might have a ding or two in them, which doesn’t effect cooking. It’s a great place to grab a set for that special cook in your life.
Another gift idea for bakers is Nancy Silverton’s new cookbook, The Cookie That Changed My Life, available on Amazon.com and other stores. I hope Santa is bringing me a copy because I am a baker and do have a cookie business, which I will be expanding in the New Year, so stay tuned. My iphone watch with Minnie Mouse is my favorite thing of all and if you have someone who likes to track their steps and loves Disney, I highly recommend one. Another thing I wear everyday are my UGG Slippers in the kitchen, in fact you may have caught a glimpse of my feet in previous videos, oops. I love how comfortable they feel on my feet and they give me enough support. One last place to look for fashion and gift ideas, is Gilt.com. They have designer things that are marked down for people like you and me. I always find great gifts on their website.
Food this week will be deliciously easy because I know many of us have a tight schedule. So on Monday, it’s White Bean Rosemary Turkey Chili. It’s simple to throw together and it really tastes like the season. Tuesday is taco night and Rotisserie Chicken Tacos are really quick and easy because you grab a cooked bird from the store and put them together. Wednesday is Slow-Cooker Italian Meatball Sliders because it’s meatball time!! I love how juicy and tender they come out and it’s easy to plop one on a soft bun to enjoy. Thursday evening is a great night for a hardy salad like my Farro, Tangerine and Leafy Green Salad with Tahini Vinaigrette. It’s filling enough to eat as an entree and a good way to get more greens into your diet before the holiday weekend. On Friday night you might be gathering with family or friends and this Warm Truffle Brie with Sauteed Mushrooms and Cranberries is great to share with wine or cocktails. Saturday’s are for baking and it’s time to get ready for Santa, so my Espresso Gingerbread Cake is both delicious for a dessert or served in the morning with coffee. Have a merry week ahead.
