For most of us, trick-or-treat is off the table this year due to Covid 19 restrictions, but that’s not to say that the fun must come to an end. Having your own Halloween monster mash at home with your family, and maybe a couple of friends in your dark bubble, could actually be one Spooktacular event. Creating a party plan with a menu that will set both fantasy, and fear is the souls of loved ones, is what I aim for on Halloween. So here’s some help on the ghastly recipe front, with a few easy-to-prepare dark dishes and devilish desserts, that will please the little goblins and the grim reaper in your household.
Cauldrons of stews, meatballs and soups are favorites to serve on all hallows’ eve, and can be kept warm on the stove top, in a crockpot, or in an electric pressure cooker. Preparing a few make-ahead dishes that can easily be served by your gruesome guests is what I shoot for on this bloody day. Don’t forget the home baked ghostly goodies with a creepy design to make them howl for more. These deceiving treats have a special place in my enchanted heart, and can easily be made with the ghouls that live amongst you.
Halloween doesn’t need to be too complicated, but it does need to be filled with potions that please the witches and warlocks at the celebration. Don’t forget to create a special drink that will horrify the adults, and cast a certain spell upon them – one that they will never forget. Happy Halloween!
