This year it’s game on for Halloween, especially since most of us skipped it last year due to Covid. Passing out candy is always a thing you do at the door, but for family and friends that visit in their best ghoulish costumes – cakes or pies, cookies and candied treats are always a spooktacular touch for any gathering.
I was at the local grocery store the other day and noticed even they had candied eye balls on the baking aisle for Halloween this year. I no longer needed to order them online, or make a special trip to the cake decorating store, so I could place them on my chocolaty monster cookies. Red colored gel is another staple around this holiday, so my creepy dark chocolate cupcakes can scare those bigger goblins that visit. Wrapped caramels that you can melt and dunk apples into and roll with black and orange sprinkles are a quick and easy way to make caramel apples on the stove top, and don’t forget to make a festive cocktail for the bewitching hour, and my bloody martini just might do the job. It’s time to get gruesome in the kitchen this holiday, and hurry back to my blog for some inspiration. Have a happy Halloween.
