5-Ingredient Scallion Dip – Recipe!

I know the big game is this Sunday and many of us are scouring the internet for festive things to enjoy during the Super Bowl.  A mix of nachos, pizza, burgers, hot dogs and dip seem to be the usual cast of characters, maybe not all of them, but definitely several of them.  Here’s a quick and tasty new addition to your dip repertoire that I think you’re going to want to make using just a handful of ingredients.

Scallions or green onions, are an easy find at the grocery store or farmer’s market, and they seem to be plentiful year round.  Pureeing them into a creamy combination using light mayonnaise and yogurt as the base, brings these simplistic flavors alive.  I think it’s freshness is a real standout, and makes one of the quickest side kicks for vegetables, chips and even hot wings.  This light green hued dip shouldn’t be skipped this Sunday, with its clean oniony flavors, a perfect food to enjoy with any small family gathering on this pandemic game day.

Ingredients

1/2 cup light mayonnaise

1/2 cup Greek yogurt

3 scallions, sliced including green part

1 teaspoon Worcestershire

1/2 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

veggies and chips for dipping

(Serves 4)

To Prepare:

  1. In a food processor or blender, add all ingredients.
  2. Puree until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  3. Serve with vegetables, chips or hot wings.  Enjoy!
