When it comes to the holidays a good roast on the buffet table is most often appreciated. At Christmas, I gravitate towards making a beef tenderloin because they’re are fairly simple to prepare, and the whole family enjoys it. However, they do tend to be expensive and some households may not be able to fit that cut of meat into their budgets. No worries, there are so many other tasty options that are indeed more affordable and will please those holiday palates.
Pork tenderloin is a great choice and much less expensive, but if your heart is set on beef, try a chuck roast or sirloin cut roast and prepare it low and slow with an unforgettable sauce. The rich flavors of a roast will pop when simmered slowly, and are especially nice alongside roasted vegetables or potatoes. You can create a holiday dinner within your budget and here are some wonderful recipes for a holiday dinner.
