Ingredients

  • 1 white onion, sliced
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 ounces canned green chilies
  • 1 1/4 pounds chicken boneless skinless thighs
  • 1 1/4 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 orange, cut in half
  • corn tortillas
  • shredded cabbage
  • avocado
  • hot sauce

To Prepare:

  1. In a slow-cooker insert, add onions, tomatoes, cumin, salt, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, green chilies, stir.
  2. Add chicken thighs and breasts. Squeeze orange over top, stir to combine.
  3. Place lid on top and cook on low for 8 hours. Remove lid and shred chicken with two forks in sauce.
  4. Toast tortillas over an open flame or under broiler.
