Hatfield’s – Los Angeles

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hatfield’s moved to Melrose Avenue about a year ago and they sure are making some great Cal French cuisine.  They are open for lunch and dinner and the menus look outstanding.  For lunch they offer two prix fixe choices or separate appetizer and entree selections.  My friend and I decided to take separate routes on the menu and she ordered one of the prix fixe and I went with an entree alone.  Her lunch consisted of a corn soup to start — fresh corn puree with no cream or butter, a chicken pallaird with fresh corn and a fresh mango sorbet with sable cookie.  I tasted her soup and it was fabulous — creamy and decadent but, light on the tongue.  As for me, I chose the thai red snapper which came with crispy skin and served over turmeric potato puree and avocado salad.   All of our food was cooked perfectly and it paired nicely with a Viogner on their “wines by the glass” menu.

As for dinner, there are a variety of tasting menus as well as separte a la carte choices…all of which look delicious.  You can order from the main menu in the bar if you don’t want to sit in the main dining room.  Go to Hatfield’s, some of the best food in the city.
