Tis’ the season for fun and festive cocktails. Whether you prefer them sweet or super dry, there’s always room for something exciting to sip on during the holiday season. This year I decided to go sweet with a minty finish for a dessert-like drink that can be enjoyed before or after a meal.
Cocktails are often drank as dessert for a splendid post-dinner finale. The smooth characteristic of combining chocolate liqueur, peppermint schnapps and vodka create the most enjoyable drink for this special time of year. It does remind me of a treat more than just a cocktail and that’s what makes it so fun.
You can make a larger batch ahead of time and double or triple my recipe in a pitcher, or enjoy them for two, quietly in front of a roaring fireplace while gazing into each others eyes. These will definitely give you some crazing fresh breath and a perfect ending.
Ingredients
4 1/2 ounces Chocolate liqueur, like Godiva
3 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce peppermint schnapps
1 candy cane, unwrapped
(Makes 2 Martini’s)
To Prepare:
- In a food processor or blender, pulverize candy cane and pour onto a plate.
- Moisten rim of each glass with damp finger and invert onto plate, coating each rim.
- Fill martini shaker with 2 cups ice cube. Add all alcohol and place lid on top.
- Shake for 30 seconds and strain into martini glasses. Sip away and Enjoy!
