Ingredients

1 1/2 cups butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

15 ounces dulce de leche

3/4 cup heavy cream

6 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons light corn syrup

12 oucnes semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 teaspoon sea salt for topping

To Prepare:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 13×9 inch pan with foil and set aside.
  2. In a stand mixer or large bowl, combine butter and sugar. Cream for 3 minutes and add vanilla, mix for 1 minute.
  3. Add flour and mix on low speed for 1 minute. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove bowl from refrigerator and dump dough into foil-lined pan. Press evenly into pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
  5. Remove and let cool. Add cream, butter and corn syrup to a small saucepan and place over medium-high heat. When boiling add chocolate chips.
  6. Set saucepan aside for 10 minutes allowing chips to melt, then whisk until smooth.
  7. Spoon dulce de leche over crust and spread evenly with a spatula. Pour chocolate over top and smooth out completely.
  8. Sprinkle top with sea salt and refrigerate at least 2 hours before slicing into bars. Enjoy!
