Savory Cheddar Scallion Puff Pastry Tart is an easy, yet elegant recipe featuring sharp cheddar, fresh scallions, and buttery puff pastry.
Creating a tart using store-bought puff pastry makes life pretty simple. The dough is already done, so you just need to defrost it in the refrigerator before creating this Savory Cheddar Scallion Puff Pastry Tart Recipe.
The ingredients I used are classic like sharp cheddar cheese, scallions or green onions as they are sometimes called, and jalapenos for a bit of personality. The cheese tames the chilies, so no need to worry if it’s going to be too hot for your family and friends. This Savory Cheddar Scallion Puff Pastry Tart is so satisfying and can be served for brunch, lunch or as an appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, defrosted
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 5 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
- 5 scallions, sliced horizontally in thirds
- 1/2 jalapeno, sliced
- salt and pepper
Tips
- you can substitute other melting cheeses for cheddar (jack, mozzarella, Havarti etc.)
- don’t skip the jalapenos, they add flavor
- you can add other vegetables, like red peppers or broccoli – just don’t over load the puff pastry
(Serves 4-6)
To Prepare:
