Lindy & Grundy opened over a month ago on North Fairfax Avenue offering LA fresh sustainable farm meats. I couldn’t be more excited about their new shop ….the building is brand new just above Melrose Avenue and Amelia and Erika designed the space themselves…walk in cooler, conveyor type meat hook and large butcher block in the center.
The day I arrived they were waiting on the delivery of their cows, so the cases were a little sparse as Amelia explained, but still contained some wonderful cuts of lamb, whole chickens, sausages and fresh head cheese. Also, they carry a variety of cheeses from Cow Girl Creamery and small producers.
Cooking classes will be in the near future so you might want to log on to their website and submit your email address for future information. Also, they will take special orders (for specific cuts of meat) with a week’s notice which is nice to know for entertaining and/or trying out new recipes. By the way…the lamb loin roast was divine! I can’t wait to cook up the sausages. What a fantastic addition to the Los Angeles!
