Martini’s are a very festive drink, no matter the season or celebration. My favorite martini is a Manhattan because I am a fan of Rye Whiskey and Carpano Antica, an Italian vermouth. However, there are a few other martini’s I enjoy like a Dirty Martini with a splash of olive juice and a skewer of Bleu Cheese olives. During the holidays, I like to create a new cocktail that is elegant with the right holiday flair – Pear Martini, fits the bill.
This cocktail is perfect to serve at parties or for a quite evening at home. The pear flavors are subtle and smooth and it goes nicely with little holiday nibbles. It’s definitely a celebration drink!
4 ounces vodka
1 1/2 ounces creme de poire
1 1/2 ounces brandy
fresh pears for garnish
(Makes 2 Martini’s)
1. Place all the cocktail ingredients out for preparation (mise en place).
2. Fill your cocktail shaker with ice as well as the martini glasses. Everyone loves a chilled glass!
3. Add the vodka, creme de poire and brandy to the ice filled shaker.
4. Shake, shake, shake….
5. Dump the ice from the martini glasses. Strain the cocktail into each glass.
